(gABBAR, 2010-10-07 10:52)

hey Mr Asif I dont expected the young, educated & progressive generation of ours to think in those narrow & self limiting terms, come-on enlarge your vision and do not be a victim of petty jealosy & hatred for own fellow beings. Do not create filthy issues like "Jammu guys" & "kashmir guys" , rather concentrate your energies on positive things and to prepare for your exams.

Whether a brother of ours is selected in IAS from Jammu region or Kashmir region, it is equally a matter of pride for us. IT IS A MATTER OF PRIDE FOR OUR J & K STATE. Do not attempt to create divisions , rather try to bridge gaps if you can. And remember , 'united we stand divided we fall.'

You would only understand those things if you've been working outside the state away from home, for 6-7 long years like I've been.

mr. ndtv before making comments on others try to analyse things with different perspectives.SHAH FAISAL is our role model and we all are proud of him.I said he failed to qualify.there may be reasons for that, may be he did not appear in mains or may be psc didn't shortlisted him like other deserving candidates or there may be some other reasons.finally don't compare sandeep with me..

The starting point of Look West policy was the launch of negotiations for an India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) free trade agreement and a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with individual member countries of the GCC, that is, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
If India’s “Look East Policy” was aimed at reintegrating India with the dynamic, rapidly-rising economies of East and South-East Asia, her “Look West Policy” is aimed at strengthening relations with a region that is vital to India’s energy security, and is also a source of employment for over 3.5 million Indians and a source of sizeable foreign exchange remittances. In Saudi Arabia alone, there are over 2 million Indians, the largest expat community in the state, and it accounts for over 20 per cent of India’s oil imports.

Free trade area is a type of trade bloc, a designated group of countries that have agreed to eliminate tariffs, quotas and preferences on most (if not all) goods and services traded between them. It can be considered the second stage of economic integration. Countries choose this kind of economic integration form if their economical structures are complementary. If they are competitive, they will choose customs union.

vedanta project

(khabir, 2010-10-07 05:31)

Vedanta Project is a bauxite project proposed by industrialist Anil Aggar-wal’s Vedanta Group
Benefits from Vedanta Alumina Project:
The total bauxite reserves located in Niyamgiri Hills is 73 million tones. Even though trading in bauxite is almost totally controlled by a few big corporates, leading to an artificially depressed price of bauxite in the World Market, the average rate of bauxite as delivered in US ports was $ 30.80 per ton. Thus a lower estimate for international price of bauxite to an alumina producer may be safely taken to be $25 or Rs.1000/tonne. It may also be noted that Orissa’s gibbsitic bauxite deposits are some of the best in the world with lower processing cost, and therefore would have fetched a premium if the market was free.
If the Niyamgiri bauxite was sold on open market, it would have resulted in an income of at least Rs. 7300 crores.
