hi raman,
it is really very difficult to write in detail here.but yes in briesf i will share my views here.jnk has agriculture still as the backbone of its economy.in early 90's share of agri in NSDP was about 47% which has now declined to 25% but is still here than the national average of 18.5% share of agricultural in GDP.this means we still economically rely a lot on agriculture and allied activities so need of the hour is to launch a multipronged strategy to increase agri, meat, milk and wool production.agri research has to be promoted.since our state has diversified climatic cdevice we can accordingly device the plan for jammu, kashmir n ladakh.horticulture has been earning 8 biilion rupees for state anually.so temperate fruit/horticulture has to be given special attention.similarly jammu being closer to northern indian plains can prove out to be food basket off jnk due to peculiar environmental conditions.

other areas of significance in agri include..livestock production including milk n meat n wool have to be also considered.people should be encouraged to develop entrepreneurship skills to help in commercialisation of agriculture.land reforms, better irrigation facilities, farm mechanisation are other things.

manufacturing sector.....manufacturing n services sector have not reaaly picked up as it did in other states like gujrat.state has reaaly never endevoured to frame certain definite policies regarin manufacturing sector.although tax exemptions have been to this sector but it needs more efforts.the govt may think of going for designations of industrial zones or SEZ type to encourage production to earn foreign exchange.althoug there is lack of raw materials but other industries like pharma, agro based industries, techno sector, power sector etc have potential to revolutionise our economy.state has the potential to generate about 50 thousan mw MW of hydroelectric power which can fetch us a good return.similarly..agrobased industries like animal/poultry feed, juices n beverages, processed meat n milk, jams n pickless etc are also important.further due to states huge medical herbs wealth pharma sector can pick up at ease if proper incentives are provided.
solutions.....microfinance facility to budding entrepreneurs, sops like in tax,SEZ,etc

services sector...at national level this sector has really beeen a boon.services sector co tributes more than 65% to GDP at national level.but as i said earlier in our state these sectors have not picked up so much.but with respect to manufctring sec.services have picked up a bit.its second largest source of state income.the banking sectors, tourism, software dev.services, etc hv witnessed a a good growth.the tourism is on revival path and holds key to our overall development.in 70 s tourism cprovided employment to a very good number of people but currently only about 3 to 4& people are directly or indirectly getting there bread and butter from this sector but if given proper attention things may change for a good.piligrimage tourism, ecological tourism, adventure sports, winter sports can attrect a large chunk of persons from around the globe n thus earn a very good amount foreign exchange for us.
.....i used least data n economic terms....

Apart from agriculture we can focus on Service sector,People of the state should focus on Entreupernuship and should not wait for Govt jobs for years and years.people shouldnt wait till 35 in order to get jobs ,they can start looking for oppurunities and gain experience across the Globe,so that if they will return to state ,they can contribute to the society with experineve they gained. What will a doctor/engineer/LEcturer serve when his first job starts at 37.when he starts his job people from other parts of globe try to take Mid career retirement. We should not wait for cabinet meetings to decide our future. The Country's agriculture contribution to GDP around 18 perecent but still economy is growing at 7 percent ,india's economy was second fastest growing economy during recession after china, this is all possible due to strong private sector ,We need a mindset change and once people who are not having jobs can start their own ventures and one day we will have a prosperous economy in state. We cant pur entire blame to Govt.JK already has surplus and non functional staff.

yes onu i agree partly with you but other things are equally important.in a lassiz fair or free market economy govt has to act merely as a regulator and is suuposed to create a business favourable invironment but on the contrary our state has become no.1 corrupt state.the corruption is like throwing money in air.corruption breaks the backbone of economy and this money is absolutelly a a loss.in additidion it discourages the budding entrepreneurs and large business houses to start there operations here.

others things i suggerst are that address lack of better infrastructure.motivate NRJNKS i mean non resident jnk folks to invest here in there state.other things may be PPP ie public private parternship module.mineral industry should be devoloped at preferential basis like precious stone industry in bhaderwah region or limestone, mica etc.further i think state should take initiative of building IT hubs like electrionic city in bangalore or hi tech city of hydrabad.furtheremore, medical tourism can do the trick for us.the revival of tourism industry is our trump card.
hope guys i have to some extent answered your question..regards..drfaganie@gmail.com

let us first have a look on figures so that things are clear.
